Inspired by the openness of a New York loft, this attic renovation transforms a cramped storage space into a light-filled respite for a grandmother and her visiting grandkids. A large western dormer was introduced to flood the space with afternoon light, framing a "chill zone" that features a private library at one end and a spa-like soaking tub at the other.
